Edit Karacsony is professional event, portrait, landscape and cityscape photographer based in Stamford, Connecticut. After a 20-year career in financial accounting, she transitioned to photography full-time in 2022, following a long-standing passion for visual storytelling. A pivotal moment in her journey came in April of 2022, when she embarked on a month long solo cross-country drive from California to New Jersey, visiting seven National Parks, six State Parks and a few cities in between. This experience continues to shape her perspective and approach. Influenced by the work of Ansel Adams, she is drawn to both vast landscapes and dynamic cityscapes. Her photography reflects a refined, atmospheric sensibility rooted in observation, patience, and a deep appreciation for place.

Edit Karacsony - Artist Statement

My work explores solitude, scale, and the subtle relationship between environment and presence. I am drawn to vast landscapes and layered cityscapes. Spaces that feel both expansive and intimate. The images I create range from black and white to subtle or richly colored compositions, across both landscape and cityscape work. Through light, composition, and timing, I seek to capture quiet moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Photography allows me to slow down and engage more deeply with the world, finding balance between stillness and movement. Whether in nature or within the rhythm of a city, I am interested in the emotional space a scene holds - where solitude is not absence, but awareness.
